Marvin E. Jones, 85, of Fernandina Beach passed away Sunday morning, September 17, 2017.
Mr. Jones was born January 31, 1932 in Yulee, FL and was a life-long resident of the Yulee-Fernandina Beach area. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach and was a devoted husband and father; a loving and gentle man. He enjoyed playing checkers, fishing and golfing.
Mr. Jones was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin Edward and Dorothy Inez Jones, and a brother Alton Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann Jones of Fernandina Beach, FL; a son, Marvin E. Jones, Jr. (Patty) of Yulee, FL; two daughters, Jackie Jones of Fernandina Beach and Michelle Meeks of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Gail Haddock of Port St. Joe, FL; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, at First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach. Interment will follow at Bosque Bello Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
