Obituary

Lee V. Knie, age 75, entered into rest on September 12, 2017, at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. He was born on February 10, 1942, in Cresbard, South Dakota to Elmer and Vera (Beatty) Knie. He was raised and educated in Cresbard and graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1960. Lee married Lil Simmons on June 26, 1964, in Tacoma. Lee worked as a D.J in 1964-1965. The couple lived in Juneau and Sitka, Alaska where he was a radio and TV engineer, cable TV manager and lineman. In 1970, they moved to Colfax, Washington and Lee worked for Washington State University as a radio and TV engineer. He worked throughout the state of Washington installing micro wave dishes for the WHETS program (Washington Higher Education Telecommunication System). He later transferred to Pasco and retired from WSU. He then owned and operated L&L Construction for eighteen years.
Lee was a kind and generous man. He was a fast walker and fast talker and loved telling jokes. He was also a hunter, fisherman and Boy Scout Leader. He loved riding and working on Harley’s, his 1962 Cadillac and traveling.
Lee is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Lil of Pasco; his son, Patric Knie (Michelle) of Medical Lake; grandchildren, Brittney Catlin (TJ), Nicholas Knie and Kaitlyn Buck (Patt); great-grandchildren, Avery and Autumn, his brother, John Knie (Catherine) of Redmond; niece, Anne Rorberg; and nephew, Eric Knie. He was preceded in death by his parents.
