Joseph A. McCabe, age 22, of Canton, MA; passed away tragically on September 15th after a long and courageous battle with addiction. Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School Class of 2014. Growing up Joe played youth lacrosse and hockey and went on to play football at Canton High School. He had worked for several years as a Plumber’s Apprentice. He enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Brittany and his daughter Aaliyah and he also enjoyed fishing, skiing and walking the family dog.
Cherished son of Susan E (Bougas) McCabe and Edward F McCabe, big brother of Eddie and Sheila, devoted partner of Brittany Powers, proud father of 20 month old Aaliyah Jade and Olivia Joe, due in January, all of Canton, MA; Grandson of Sheila A. McCabe and the late Robert E. McCabe of Canton, MA; Arthur Bougas of Mashpee and the late Jeannette Bougas of Canton, MA; also survived by 21 aunts & uncles and numerous cousins. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 3 to 8 pm. Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton Friday morning at 10:30. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton.
