Obituary

Martin Joseph Coyne, Sr., 89, of East Walpole, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 in the Stanley Tippett House in Needham. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen L. (Duddy) Coyne who passed away in 1978.

Martin was born on September 21, 1927 in Norwood, MA to the late Thomas and Mary (Joyce) Coyne. He was a lifelong East Walpole resident and was a graduate of Walpole High School.
Martin was a proud Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War, where he attained the rank of Corporal. After his service to his country, Martin worked at Bird & Son in Walpole for 25 years and also for the US Postal Service in Norwood for 20 Years and was a volunteer firefighter for the town of Walpole.

In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and was a member or the Norwood Elks and Walpole VFW.

He is survived by his three sons, Martin Coyne, Jr. and his wife Linda of IL, Thomas Coyne and his wife Charlene of VA, and Steven Coyne and his wife Janine of Wakefield. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John E., Barbara, Mary, Michael, Bernard and Thomas Coyne.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Tuesday, September 19 from 9:30 – 11:30am in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main Street, Walpole, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 176 Washington Street, E. Walpole at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
