Obituary

R Scott Martin, age 48, of Winchester, ended his battle with ALS on September 14, 2017. He was born in Northampton, MA on February 14, 1969, Valentine's Day. Between those dates he accomplished so much and touched so many people.

Scott grew up in Easthampton, MA, attending local schools. As a child he was very active in youth soccer, baseball, tennis and swimming programs, and spent much of his days playing out back in the woods. He graduated from the former Holyoke Catholic High School, went on to graduate from Bryant University and was later awarded an MBA from Bentley University with high honors. Scott spent his entire career in the investment industry until November 2016, when he was no longer able to do so.

Scott was married to the love of his life and best friend Camilla Ericson in 1997. They eventually settled in Winchester, MA where they raised their two children. Their life centered on family and their professional careers. The children became very involved in the Winchester sports programs especially hockey and baseball. As a family they enjoyed many wonderful vacations together in and outside of the country. His family, friends, classmates, and business associates knew Scott to be a caring, passionate, ethical, kind, and gentle person with a great smile.

Scott is survived by his beloved wife Camilla S. Ericson Martin, sons Alden and Tucker Martin, and their dog Cisco. He leaves behind his father Robert Martin of Easthampton, MA, his sister Lori Martin-Lukomski and her husband Chris, his nephew Ryan and niece Madeline all of Westfield, MA. In addition he leaves his father-in-law Kent Ericson and his wife Maryann of Portland, ME, his mother-in-law Carolyn Scholz of Winchester, MA, his sister-in-law Shannon Ericson and her husband Chris Valcourt, his nieces Olivia and Julia all of Winchester, MA. Scott has many aunts, uncles, and cousins. His godmother Maureen Charlebois and great aunt Alma Craig were very special to him. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret Harrison Martin.

There will not be any calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, 155 Washington Street, Winchester, MA, on Thursday, September 21 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery, 34 Palmer Street, Winchester, MA.
