Obituary

Edward F. “Ned” Brennan, age 93, longtime resident of Framingham and formerly of Natick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham. Ned is survived by his beloved wife of more than 55 years, Barbara (Spaulding) Brennan.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Ned is survived by his son attorney Edward (Ned) Brennan Jr. of Maynard and daughter Sarah (Brennan) Phillips and husband Richard of Wellesley. He also leaves two loving grandchildren Margaret and Henry Phillips. Ned is also survived by his sister Sheila B. Dyer of Florida, sister-in-law Marcia S. Shea and husband Francis of Wilbraham and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers John and Richard Brennan.

Ned was born and raised in Natick, son of attorney John Brennan and Margaret Una (Mahan) Brennan. He was a graduate of Natick High School and Burdett Business College. Ned was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served in World War II in the South Pacific as a Pharmacist’s Mate on the U.S.S. La Prade DE 409. He was called to service again for the Korean War.

After serving his country, Ned earned his real estate license and later become a Mortgage Loan Officer for Boston Mutual Life and First Federal Savings and Loan. Before retiring he was a Vice President and Mortgage Officer for Northeast Savings Bank. In his free time, you could find Ned meticulously tending his lawn and landscaping or playing cards with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 19 in St. Patrick Church 44 East Central Street, Natick, MA. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Natick. Visitation will be held privately by his family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
