C. F. Brewer, Jr., 95, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Friday, September 15, 2017, at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Jay Moore officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Brewer was born April 14, 1922, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Charles Forest & Lora Walker Brewer. He lived in the community all of his life and graduated from Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Brewer served his country honorably in the United States Army Air Corps and was a M.P. during WWII. He was a farmer and drove a school bus for the Ben Hill County school system for 14 years. He also was owner and operator of Brewer’s Garage and worked on engines for Forestry Supply and Martin Motors. He received several diplomas for mechanics and small engines. Mr. Brewer enjoyed gardening, loved fishing at the river and hunting birds. He was a very independent man and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann Brewer of Fitzgerald; two sons: Gerald & Delaine Brewer of Fitzgerald and Larry & Teresa Brewer of Fitzgerald; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and a brother, Elton Brewer of Fitzgerald.
