Robert M. Gephart, Sr., 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, of Ty Ty passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his residence. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Gephart at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Ellen Richardson officiating. Mr. Gephart will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born May 23, 1939, in Richmond, Virginia, Mr. Gephart was the son of the late Ira Camfield Gephart and Louise Ray Lucas Gephart. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service and then served in Civil Service for 20 years. He was a member of Our Divine Savior Catholic Church in Tifton.
Mr. Gephart is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Husted Gephart of Ty Ty; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. Jr. and Christy Ann Gephart of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra Lynn and James Howard Van Cleave, Jr. of Raleigh, North Carolina and his step-grandchildren, Cody and Dakota; four grandchildren, James Howard Van Cleave III, Corey Allen Van Cleave, Brandon Robert Gephart and Michael Anthony Louis Gephart; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Leon Van Cleave and Elisabeth Marie Van Cleave; one brother, Roy Gephart of Mechanicsville, Virginia; one sister, Sandra Gephart Harris of Jarrett, Virginia; one brother-in-law and his wife, Louis C. Husted and Robyn Husted of Merritt Island, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Linda Dahlstrom and Aaron Talley of Italy and Sandra Cusumano of Ty Ty; and several nieces and nephews.
