New Bedford – Margaret (Medeiros) Tavares, age 77 of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Tavares and daughter of the late Lydia (Sylvia) and Charles Medeiros.
She was born in New Bedford, MA and was a loving homemaker to her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Buhour and her husband, Michael of Fairhaven; 2 sons, Russell Tavares of Fall River and Robert Tavares and his wife, Susan of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren, Madysen Buhour, Jordan Buhour and Russell Tavares Jr.; a brother, Richard Medeiros of New Bedford; a great-grandchild, Noah Tavares; sisters, Mildred Kikas of Baltimore MD. and Cecalia Caldeira of CT. She was also the sister of the late, Faizi Medeiros.
Her visiting hours will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral services which will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, beginning at 8:00 A.M. with a service to begin at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St John’s Cemetery.
