Obituary

COCHITUATE: Charlotte G. (Lopas) Kutasz, 93, died peacefully under the care and comfort of her children at her residence on Monday, September 4, 2017 following a brief illness.
She was born in West Newton on October 5, 1923 the daughter of the late John Lopas and Theresa (O’Laughna) Lopas.
Charlotte was the devoted and beloved wife for 46 years of the late Victor J. Kutasz who died on May 2, 1998.
She was the loving mother of John P. Kutasz and his wife Barbara L. Kutasz of Portland, OR; Patricia A. Kutasz of Cochituate; Charlotte T. Kutasz and Wayne D. Lemmler both of Medway and the late Charles V. Kutasz who died on November 30, 1998 and Paul V. Kutasz who died on August 22, 2013. She was the cherished grandmother of Stephen M. Kutasz of Acton; Theresa A. Kutasz-Christensen and her husband Owen Christensen of State College, PA and Victoria M. Kutasz and her husband James Hanks of Lake Forest Park, WA. Also survived by her daughter-in-law Donna M. (Krysytniak) Kutasz of Acton and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was the sister of the late John, Veronica, Anne, Margaret, Rosaleen, Catherine, Charles and Theresa.
Charlotte has been a resident of Cochituate for over 63 years and spent her formative years in West Newton. She graduated from Newton High School and for many years was a secretary for John Hancock Insurance Co. before she and Victor started their family.
Charlotte returned to the work force when her children were older and was associated for over twenty years in the cafeteria program for the Town of Wayland at the Cochituate School and at Happy Hollow School where she loved being with the children. She also spent many hours as a volunteer at the Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick. Charlotte spent many years behind the scenes for many of the GoldenTones musical productions. She and her husband Victor were active with the Wayland Senior Citizens and she particularly loved making crafts and working with the children at the annual fair. She was a longtime communicant of Saint Zepherin Church and spent countless hours making crafts for the church fair and the events of the Womens Club. She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid reader and loved knitting and making scarfs for her family and friends. Charlotte also spent many hours at the polls for town, state and national elections at Precinct Two and will be fondly remembered for always bringing her chocolate chip cookies for the workers on election day. She became an avid Red Sox fan through her husband and together they loved watching all the games. She will be remembered as a wonderful person who always had a bright smile to share with everyone.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
On Monday, September 11, 2017 family and friends are requested to go directly to Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte. 27), Cochituate Village, Wayland for Charlotte’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Kutasz family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate.
