Obituary

Alana L. (LaGue) Kaegael, 52, of Acushnet died August 29, 2017 after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Paul D. Kaegael, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Raymond W. LaGue, Sr. and Doreen E. (Hyde) Langevin and the step-daughter of Maggie (Almeida) LaGue of Lakeville, she lived in Acushnet most of her life.
Alana spent most of her career in restaurant management and at the service desk of supermarkets. She was a "hands on" manager whose personality was capable of lifting the spirits of all those around her. She was a doting grandmother, the kind who would happily spend a thousand dollars on a five year olds birthday party just to see them smile. She loved to be outdoors and around water. An avid angler throughout the second half of her life, she could hang with the toughest fisherman. Some of the other things she liked included gardening, watching and discussing movies (her favorite movie was "The Wizard of Oz") and making radical changes to whatever environment she found herself at. It was not uncommon to come home and find that she had rearranged the entire house. She had a great love for plants as well as a green thumb. She found the most happiness in her family especially her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She left an indelible impact on everyone and everything she was in contact with. She will be missed! Always!
Survivors include her 2 sons, Daniel Desmarais of New Bedford and Joshua Daigle of Seekonk; 5 brothers, Shawn LaGue, Raymond LaGue, Jr., Aaron LaGue and Jason LaGue, all of Fairhaven and Christopher LaGue of Colorado; 3 sisters, Rhea Duclos of Lakeville, Nicole LaGue and Leah LaGue, both of Fairhaven; her best friend, Brenda Mattos; 8 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Thomas LaGue.
Private arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett.
