Obituary

I am saying goodbye to my husband and best friend, David W. Hill. David passed at the age of 94 at CMH on September 3, 2017, following several recent hospitalizations.
David was born in Blanchard, North Dakota on August 5, 1923 to parents David B. Hill and Ruth Ada Wheelock. The family moved to Ventura in 1932, and following high school, he joined the Army during World War II and also served in the Korean War. Later on, he graduated from Northridge College and, in the 1970's, he retired from Pt. Mugu Naval Missile Center as Head of Editing and Publishing.
David was an active docent at the Museum of Ventura County since 1981, until health issues prevented his participation, but he never lost his love of local history. In 2008, David wrote and published a book titled "The Streets of Ventura."
We enjoyed 30 years of fishing trips to the June Lake area in the Sierras, plus several ocean cruises.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kay; his sister, Lash; his step-daughter, Cindy; and his nieces, Janet and Karen.
Per David's request, no services will be held, but anyone wishing to honor his memory may make a gift to the Museum of Ventura County.
Arrangements were under the care of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura.
