Obituary

Arthur M Kenison, 78, died on August 23, 2017, at his home in Hampton Beach, NH, after a brief illness.
Born in Evanston, IL, on July 25, 1939, he was the son of Samuel and Gertrude (Sullivan) Kenison.
The family moved to Manchester, NH, where he attended school and graduated from St Anselm College before going on to earn advanced degrees from Columbia University in New York City, University of New Hampshire in Durham, and his PhD in Economics from Boston University.
Dr. Kenison retired from Saint Anselm College in December 2011 where he had taught from 1967 through 1973 and then again from 1980 until his retirement. Between 1973 and 1980, he taught at Rollins College and Crummer Graduate School of Business in Winter Park, FL. In addition to his career as a college professor, Dr. Kenison was a highly respected and sought after consultant in the field of forensic economics.
A long time resident of Hampton Beach, and Ft Lauderdale, FL, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling in Europe and the Caribbean. Another passion involved the history of the Amoskeag Manufacturing Company in Manchester which led him to publish two books on the subject, Dumaine’s Amoskeag: Let the Record Speak and Frederic C. Dumaine: Office Boy to Tycoon. He followed these books up with a third publication, An Electrifying History: Public Service Co. of New Hampshire.
He is predeceased by his wife of almost 49 years, Jeanne H (Lebel) Kenison and is survived by his daughter Tracy Kenison and her husband Scott Holt of Irvine, CA; daughter Dale Kenison-Barnes and her husband Daniel of Strafford, NH; three granddaughters, Rachel Kenison, Summer Barnes and Raven Barnes; his brother, Robert Kenison and his wife Anne of Arlington, VA; and his brother Paul Kenison of West Palm Beach, FL and Hampton Beach.
Services: Calling hours will take place on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge Street in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 10 AM in The Abbey Church at Saint Anselm College, Saint Anselm Drive in Manchester.
