Obituary

Jane A. Ahearn, 90, of Walpole, died August 20 following a short illness.

Born in Walpole, November 5,1926, the daughter of the late Maurice J. and Anne (Ryan) Ahearn, she was a lifelong Walpole resident.

Jane worked as a clerk at Kendall Mills in Walpole for several years. She then became a clerk in the Town of Walpole Collectors office where she worked until becoming Tax Collector in 1963 leaving 10 years later.

She then worked at Wrentham Developmental Center and for the Town of Norwood School Department.
Jane enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her brother M. Joseph Ahearn and his wife M. Jean of Sandwich; and was the sister of the late Helen F. Conroy and Richard F. Ahearn.

She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, Mary O’Reilly of Foxboro, Peter Conroy and his wife Karen of Foxboro, Paul Conroy of Mansfield, Mark A. Conroy and his wife Bernadette of Foxboro, Tricia Conroy of Norwood, Sheila Walsh and her husband Bob of Brockton, Siobhan and Kathleen Ahearn of Sandwich, Brian Ahearn and his wife Susan of California, Maureen Cocci and her husband Michael of Arizona, Sean Ahearn of Hawaii and the late Michael Ahearn.

She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 24 from the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street Walpole at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10:00.

Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4- 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to the Norwood Ecumenical Food Pantry, 150 Chapel Street, Norwood, Ma 02062.
