Obituary

Maureen C. Newman P.h.d, RN 74, of Millis died August 16, 2017 at the Wingate at Weston Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A Millis resident for 24 years she was born in Dayton Ohio the daughter of the late John and Patricia (Hunt) Newman.

Maureen served in numerous positions throughout her career: Intensive care nursing, medical surgical nursing, home care and hospice, psychiatric clinical nurse specialist and most recent professor in nursing.

She received her P.H.D in Nursing from the University of Virginia, Master’s Degree in Nursing from Boston University, B.S Degree in Nursing from Boston College and Registered Nursing Degree from Misericordia Nursing School in the Bronx NYC.

Maureen taught at the Rhode Island College School of Nursing as well as Boston College and the University of Virginia and Lynchburg college.

Maureen was tirelessly devoted and committed to providing the best and immediate care for all of her patients and their family members.

She is survived by her son Thomas H Newman of Millis, one brother Dennis Newman of Bristol CT, two sisters Kathleen McCabe of New Hartford CT, Eileen Seeman of Fort Bragg CA, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Donna Salemi.

Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M at the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral on Tuesday August 22 at 9:00 A.M. At the John Everett Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church at 10:00 A.M located on 44 East Central Street, Natick Massachusetts.
