GALVIN, Gerald D. “Gerry” Of Dedham formerly of Newton Highlands, August 17, 2017. Beloved husband of Rita (Farrell) Galvin. Devoted father of Thomas Galvin and his wife Lynn of Derry, NH, Kathleen Burns and her husband Timothy of Dedham, Timothy Galvin and his wife Tracy of Woburn, and Kara Bender and her husband Paul of Dedham. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Michael, and Matthew Galvin, Emilie, John, and Kathryn Burns, and Ryan, Thomas, and Grace Bender. Son of the late Timothy and Mildred Galvin. Step-son of the late Anne Galvin. Brother of the late Walter Galvin, and Marion Morrissey. Brother-in-law of Patricia Galvin, Maureen, Eileen, and Judy Farrell, and the late Anne Sheehan and James Farrell. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Gerry was a retired Purchasing Specialist for Digital Corp., an avid golfer, and U.S. Navy Veteran.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Monday, Aug. 21 at 9:15am followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Newton Centre at 10:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home Sunday, Aug. 20 from 4-8pm. Private interment in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
