Obituary

Sergio Salvetti of Medford died on Tuesday, August 15, at the Neville Center of Cambridge. Born and raised in Marshfield, he was the son of the late Peter and Olga (Marcucci) Salvetti. Sergio proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War he spent most of his deployment helping with the reconstruction of Japan . He was later employed as a shop-teacher, and has been a Medford resident since 1953. Sergio enjoyed teaching in the cabinet making shop, he was a great cabinet maker, a gentleman farmer, and an expert wood carver.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ida M. (Bertolucci) Salvetti, and the devoted father of Mark Salvetti and his wife Christine of Saugus, and Robert Salvetti of Groton. Sergio was the loving grandfather of Daniel and Catherine Salvetti, and the cherished brother of Aldo Salvetti of Marshfield and the late Lloyd Salvetti. He was the uncle of John, Linda, Joseph, Diane, Peter, Michael, Matthew and Lisa.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Tuesday, August 22 at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at St. Bernard Cemetery, Concord. Visiting hours Monday, August 21, from 4 through 8 PM.
