Obituary

June Lois Puddister passed away peacefully in her sleep August 4, 2017. Friends and family loved her and said their goodbyes.
She was born in Boston Massachusetts May 9, 1927. June grew up in Boston and Dorchester Massachusetts. She graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School in 1944. During her high school years, she worked for Woolworth’s and Colorized Black & White Portraits. After graduation June went to work at the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston, where she worked for 10 years. During that time, she met Stephen Puddister who lived at the top of Milton St. in Dorchester and she lived at the bottom of the hill. June and Stephen dated for 2 years and got married March 7, 1953. They lived in Hyde, MA 1958, when they moved to Weymouth with daughter Janet and son Mark on the way into their new house. June was a home maker and worked part time jobs with Zayre corp in Braintree. She traveled for Zayre’s as a Fly in Cashier for new store openings. June also worked for JM Fields department store in Norwell, MA.
June was a member and attended Old South Union Church in Weymouth. She belonged to the Hammond organ society. The neighbors who lived around her could hear her play the organ. Some would say they didn’t have to go to church as June played all the hymns for them.
After her husband Stephen passed away in 1980 June went to work full time. Her first job was in an office. Then June was hired by the United States Post Office as a clerk in Framingham Ma. June worked there until she retired in 1992. June enjoyed her retirement walking her dog Shadow at Nantasket Beach, Hull, MA. June also went to U Mass Boston and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor’s Degree. By 2011 Alzheimer’s had a good hold on her. June moved to Bar Harbor Maine where she enjoyed herself and was loved by all. June was also a celebrity with her organ playing. She would play the Christmas Carols and everyone would be singing along all year long. June enjoyed the service animals visits and outings in Bar Harbor. June also enjoyed Acadia National Park. Ocean Drive, and Cadillac Mountain were her favorites along with Sand Beach.
June was predeceased by her mother Evelyn Wood Kilduff, husband Stephen T. Puddister. She is survived by her Daughter Janet Puddister and son-in-law Jeff Mullaley, her son Mark Puddister and wife Susan. Her sister Evelyn Egelstrom, her husband Dick and family.
June would appreciate donations to your local animal shelter in the form of cat or dog food, old towels for bedding, cat litter. If your shelter has take a dog for a walk or visit with the cats, this would make June very happy.
