PINI, Antonio C. 89, of Westborough formerly of Wellesley and Northborough, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Anne L. (Montali) Pini in 2016.
Antonio (Tony) is survived by his four children Anthony C. Pini and his wife Sally of Northborough, Carol A. Tellier and her husband Thomas of North Grafton, Joseph V. Pini and his wife Cheryl of Northborough, and David J. Pini and his wife Stacey of Northborough; eight grandchildren, Rachel Gonzalez and her husband Efren, Sarah Follo and her husband Michael, Christine Longo and her husband Kevin, Michael Pini, John Pini, James Pini, Amy Tellier and Mark Tellier; four great-grandchildren, Luciana Gonzalez, Giovanna Follo, Gino Follo, and Scarlett Longo; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late John Pini and Natalina Pini.
He was a graduate of Wellesley High School and lived most of his life in Wellesley. Tony honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Tony was a dedicated employee of Star Market for 46 years, holding various managerial positions in the Meat Division, as well as Warehouse Distribution.
Tony enjoyed golf, woodworking, reading, cooking, watching the Red Sox and Patriots, and especially spending time during his retirement years with his wife Anne on Cape Cod. Above all, his greatest joy and delight came from being with his family, whom he adored, and who will miss him tremendously. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all.
Visitation Saturday, August 19 from 9:00-10:30am at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., (Rt 16) WELLESLEY followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 11:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
