Obituary

Rosa (Cavaliere) Picciocchi passed away at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford on Monday evening at the age of 92. A long-time Medford resident, Rosa was the daughter of the late Anthony and Frances (Colucci) Cavaliere. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio and was raised in Italy after the death of her mother. After Rosa and Giuseppe were married, they came back to the United States and lived in Cambridge, before settling in Medford. She worked as a seamstress for Byron Clothing, before her retirement. Family was the most important thing to Rosa. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandsons. She was a wonderful cook and a devoted gardener.

The beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Picciocchi, she was a devoted mother to Lena O'Connell and her husband William of Quincy and Michael Picciocchi of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to William O'Connell and his fiancé Melissa and Joseph O'Connell and his wife Theresa. She was the dear sister of the late Frank, Paul and Agostino Cavaliere.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday August 18th at 10:30 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 9-10:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosa's name to the St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 381051942.
