Obituary


James “Terry” Walsh, 76, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday August 15, 2017 in Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. He was born in Bangor, ME on June 30, 1941, the son of Norman and Rita (Connor) Walsh, and had been a resident of Derry since 1986. Mr. Walsh was a US Navy veteran, and was employed as a chief engineer in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Derry Lion's Club. Mr. Walsh was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas in Derry where he was involved with the Holiday meal program. He loved his family and his dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Alice (Fleming) Walsh; his son, Christopher Walsh; two sisters, Clarice McClure, and Rita Kane; three brothers, David Walsh, Kevin Walsh, and Paul Walsh; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Following cremation, calling hours were held on Saturday, August 26th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial servicel followed at 12:30 pm in the funeral home. There will be an additional service to be held in Maine at a later time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01710.
