Obituary

WEBSTER – Josephine (Fidrych) Hanc, 93, died Sunday, August 13, 2017 after a brief illness. Her husband of 50 years, Francis A. Hanc, Sr., died on January 1, 1997.

She leaves 3 children, Janice B. McKenzie and her husband David of Bennington, NH, David J. Hanc and his wife Donna Gray-Hanc of Jefferson, ME and Joan M. Paharik and her husband Michael of Holden; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Jane Hanc of Dudley; 4 grandchildren, Emma and Andrew McKenzie, Jocelyn Hanc and her wife Megan Marlow, and Ryan Hanc; nieces and nephews. Her son, Francis A. Hanc, Jr., died on March 1, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Jennie Fidrych, Walter Fidrych and Helen Hagan.

Josephine was born and raised in Pascoag, RI, the youngest child of Joseph and Sophia (Radziewicz) Fidrych. She graduated from Burriville High School in 1942 and lived in Webster since her marriage in 1946.

Mrs. Hanc was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica and a founding member of the Saint Joseph Polish Women’s Club.

The funeral will be held Friday, August 18, at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday, August 17, in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street. Donations in her name may be made to St. Joseph School Immediate Needs Fund, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570.
