Belchertown Mary F. Wassung, age 88, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Genesis Elaine Center at Hadley surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 1, 1929 in Chicopee, MA to the late Joseph and Germaine LaPerle Daigle. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 68 Years, William C. Wassung, Jr, May 14, 2017. She was 'Ma' to her 6 children, Dennis Wassung and his wife Karen of Montgomery, Gail (Wassung) Cavannah of West Springfield, Gary Wassung and his wife Anna of Lenexa, KS, Janet Footit and her husband Gerry of Belchertown, Mark Wassung and his wife Cathy of West Springfield and Carl Wassung and his wife Cristy of Feeding Hills who loved her and who will miss her every day. She was 'Memere' to 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who loved and cherished her. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Gloria Morrissette of Venice, Florida, many nieces, nephews, friends and her best friend, Beverly Ducharme of Belchertown. She was a communicant of St Francis of Assisi Parish in Belchertown. She enjoyed playing poker, bingo and going to the casinos but, mostly just loved being with her family. A Memorial Service will be held at the MA Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
