Obituary

Alice Brillo-Mendence, age 94, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 at Country Gardens, Swansea. She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Mendence and former wife of John T. Brillo. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Soares) Aguiar. During WWII she worked as a sewing machine operator for Shelbourn Shirt Mfg. Prior to retirement she was employed at Harvey Probber. Alice served as the President of the Holy Rosary Society and was a member of the Women’s Guild at St. John of God. She also helped teach Pentacostal Life in the Spirit Seminars.

Alice is survived by her sons Michael J. Brillo (wife Deborah) of Assonet and Frank J. Brillo (husband Akim Czmus) of Somerset; 3 grandchilren and 4 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. John of God Church at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M.
