Augusta, GA – Roger D. Cheek, Sr., 69, loving husband of 48 years to Barbara A. Cheek, entered into rest on Friday, August 11, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Platt’s Funeral Home Crawford Ave. Chapel with Rev. Dusty Wammack officiating.
Roger worked as the General Manager for Star Delta Electric, where he worked for over 30 years before retiring. He was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan, enjoyed playing pool, and working outside. Roger would often cut grass for his neighbors who needed assistance. He genuinely loved helping others.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons; Randall I. Cheek (Jennifer) of Martinez, GA, Roger D. Cheek, II (Erica) of Evans, GA, two daughters; Anglea Ellison (Chris) of Athens, GA, Candy E. Cheek of New York, 7 grandchildren; Brandon Ellison (Ansley), Lauren Myers (Steven), Adam Ellison, Roman Cheek, Dillon Cheek, Madison Cheek, and Rylie Cheek.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
