Robert J. Stiles, 75, died Thursday, December 3, 2016 at Coventry Skilled Nursing Center in Coventry, RI.
Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, he was a son of Charles K. Stiles and Isabel (McGowan) Smith.
Robert served in the United States Navy and made his home in West Warwick for many years. He had previously lived in Smithfield. He was a driver for UPS and a member of the Teamsters local #251 before retiring. He received his college degree in business at Johnson and Wales University.
He was the beloved husband of the late, Patricia M. (Parente) Stiles. He is survived by his children, Robin Masso and husband, Steve Masso of North Scituate, Todd Stiles of Smithfield, and Jay Stiles of Johnston, his four beloved grandchildren, Stephen C. Masso, Dr. Candace Criscione, Kaitlyn Stiles, Abigail Stiles and his sister Carol Abbatematteo and late brother-in-law Benny Abbatematteo of Glocester. He is predeceased by his brother Charles Kenneth Stiles Jr. of Smithfield.
He is also survived by step brothers and sisters Carol Major N.M, Robert Smith CT, Thomas Smith FL, John I Smith RI, Donald Smith CT, Dennis Smith FL, Sandra Todd CO, John I O'Gara RI and predeceased by William Smith NV and step father William H. Smith FL. He is also survived by first cousin Joseph Smith MA.
Funeral services will be held at the RI Veteran's Cemetery in Exeter Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 9:30am In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: shrinershospitalforchildren.org
