Wayne Gaston Wright, 76, beloved husband of 54 years of Marie Oberting Wright, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel. Interment with full military honors to follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.
Mr. Wright served his country proudly in the United States Army. He served as an MP during his service and after his retirement worked in law enforcement with the Veterans Administration. Mr. Wright was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, National Fraternal Order of Police, and the Retired Military Police Association CSRA Fort Gordon Chapter II.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Wright is survived by his children, Thierry Wright (Scarlett), and Tammy Faye Wright Wheat (Ken); his brother, Kelly Rouse; his sister, Kay Rouse Whitmore; his grandchildren, Elle Wheat, Patrick Wright, and Amanda Wright; and by his 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Buzz Hill, and sister Brenda Faye Singletary.
