Ethel (Borr) Band, 93, of Chelsea beloved wife of the late Maurice “Murray” Band, died unexpectedly August 8, 2017 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Born in Chelsea she was the daughter of the late Simon and Ann Borr. She was raised and educated in Chelsea attending Chelsea schools.
Ethel was a home maker and enjoyed attending to her family’s needs. Her favorite hobby was shopping and she was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her close friends.
Ethel was active at the assisted living center where she was a resident and a member of the B’Nai Brith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Richard L. Band and his wife Loretta of Peabody, grandchildren Stephanie L. Band & her fiancé Brian Kaplan, Josh M. Band & his girlfriend Catherine Threlkeld & Jonathan A. Band. She was predeceased by her son Kenneth J. Band and her sisters Evelyn Miller, Freda Reynolds, Seidel Borr & Lillian Beader.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Chelsea, Thursday August 10th at 11:00 AM. Interment in Agudath Shalom Cemetery, Everett. Memorial observance to be held following the burial at Richard & Loretta’s home until 8:30 PM, Friday at 201 Captains Row, 4th Fl. Chelsea, from 1-4PM, & back at Richard’s home Sat. at sundown & Sunday from 12-8PM.
