Irene ( Tavares ) Carreiro, age 61 of Taunton, passed away on August 9, 2017 at Golden Living Center-Wedgemere.
She was the beloved wife of Antonio Carreiro.
Irene was born in Sao Miguel, Azores a daughter of the late Antonio and Germana (Tavares) Araujo.
Besides her husband Antonio of 40 years, Irene is survived by her children, Sonia De Castilho and husband Herbert of Taunton and Decio Carreiro of Taunton. She was also the sister of Joao Madalena and Jose Madalena of Sao Miguel, Azores, Evelina Botelho of Taunton, Maria De Jesus Mota, Maria Dos Anjos Frias, and Teresa Brilhante all of Sao Miguel, Azores. She was the loving grandmother (vovo) of Sara Castilho of Taunton.
Irene’s funeral will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in Saint Andrew the Apostle Church Kilmer Ave, Taunton. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 13th from 4 to 7 pm in the Silva Funeral Home.
