FALL RIVER – Maria Clotilde (Tavares) Dias, age 96 of Fall River, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017 at Clifton Rehabilitative Nursing Center. Born in São Vincente Ferreira, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Jose doRego Pavao and the late Aldina Teodolinda (Tavares) Pavao, and the beloved wife of the late Manuel Jacinto Dias. Prior to retiring, Maria worked for Davol Medical Supply Co. of E. Providence. She was also a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Esmeralda Jorge (husband Norberto) of Swansea; her sister: Jovina Botelho of São Vincente Ferreira, São Miguel, Açores; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was the mother of the late Maria Manuela Amaral, Jose Manuel Dias, & Horacio Manuel Dias.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday with a visitation from 8:30-10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, E.
