Gilford---Joseph Paul Nadeau Jr. 74, of Sherwood Forest drive died, Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Lakes Region General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born August 21, 1942 in Laconia, NH son to the late Joseph P. and Mary T. (Rhodes) Nadeau. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from April 19, 1962 and retiring from service on May 31, 1984. He served during the Vietnam War and was a Master Sergeant primarily serving as an avionics instrument specialist. Joseph was also an active member of Saint Andre Besstte Parish - Sacred Heart Church.
Joseph enjoyed fishing, his trips to Alaska family BBQ's and above all spending time with his family and friends.
Joseph was affectionately known as "Buzzy" and "Papa Bear" by his loving family.
Joseph is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 53 years, Ann Marie (Fortin) Nadeau of Gilford; two daughters, Joann McMillan and her husband, Neville of Gilford and Suzanne Marengo and her husband Rob, of Tilton; four grandchildren, Raymond A. Berthoet III of Gilford, Beverly Cogburn of Tilton, JJ, Andrew and Ian York all of Laconia; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anita and Grace Nadeau. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his daughter, Maryann Nadeau.
A calling hour will be held from 10:00am - 11:00am on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.
Following the calling hour a funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 10, 2017 also at the funeral home.
