Obituary


Mrs. Dorothy M. Langhan, a Woburn resident for most of her life passed away peacefully August 5, 2017 at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading, following a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James L. Langhan. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Mary (Coghlan) Finley.

Dorothy was raised and educated in Woburn and was a 1941 graduate of Woburn High School. Following high school Dorothy moved to California for just a year before returning home to be closer to family. Se worked at the Globe Ticket Company for a period of time when she was a young lady and later worked for many years as a secretary at Woburn High School prior to her retirement. Throughout her life, Dorothy enjoyed traveling to Florida and taking many cruises with family and friends. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony Church where she was a member of the former Seton Guild. She will fondly be remembered for her kindness and very charitable personality. Dorothy greatest joy was her family and she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Mary Sargeant and her husband Richard of Ipswich, Joseph Langhan and his fiancé Patty Bongiorno of Gloucester, Joyce Kellett and her husband Jay of Reading, Carolyn Black and her husband Lee of Woburn, Christine Cunningham and her husband Paul of Lexington. She was the loving grandmother of Katherine Okolita, Lauren Zuccaro, Christopher and Allison Black, Jacqueline and Danny Kellett, Colin and Emma Cunningham. Loving great grandmother of Cameron Zuccaro, Grayson and Ashleigh Okolita. Sister of Virginia Steves of Hudson, NH. Further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Wednesday, Aug. 9th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 5 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Dorothy's memory to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or St. Anthony Parish, 80 Elm St., Woburn, MA 01801.
