Lorraine M. (Dionne) Long, 67, of Upton and a former longtime Franklin resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4th, 2017, at the Milford Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She is the beloved wife of 27 years, to Peter O. Long.
Born on May 23, 1950, in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Dionne and Elizabeth (Haskell) Dionne.
She was raised and educated in Dedham and Westwood, graduated Westwood High School class of 1968. Lorraine moved to Franklin in the early 1970’s and worked at the Bank of Boston as well as Edwin’s Gifts.
Prior to retirement, she worked as the office manager for Ostrander Insurance Company in Franklin and Bellingham for 27 years. She enjoyed gardening, home decorating, antiquing, watching the Boston sports teams, and especially loved spending time with her two grandsons.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Mark R. McCarthy and his girlfriend, Jennifer Hakey, of Strongsville, OH, and Jeffrey R. McCarthy and his fiancé, Cindie L. Hurrelbrink, of North Royalton, OH; two grandsons, Cooper R. McCarthy and Cole P. McCarthy; one brother, Robert Dionne of Norton, MA; and her former husband, William R. McCarthy.
She was the sister to the late Peter Dionne and Carole Cobb.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass Tuesday, August 8th, at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Gabriel the Archangels Church, 151 Mendon St. Upton.
Internment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Monday, August 7th, from 4 to 8 P.M. in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. Franklin.
