Obituary

Phyllis B. (St. Angelo) Bryant, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was 93 years old.

Phyllis was born in Boston on May 8, 1924, a daughter of the late Augustus St. Angelo and Sadie (Brett) St. Angelo. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School. Phyllis worked for over 40 years as a certified Social Worker for the John F. Kennedy Center in Charlestown. She took great pride taking care of the elderly in Charlestown and was a strong advocate and voice for the mentally handicapped in the Boston area. She was a former Board Member for the Erich Lindemann Center in Boston and Founder and former President of Parents & Friends of Exceptional People in Charlestown. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, baking, reading, but most of all in Phyllis's life was her need to help people.

Phyllis is the beloved wife of the late Arthur A. Bryant. She is the devoted mother of Paul Bryant Sr. and his wife Rita of Florida, Germaine Bryant of Malden, Dean Bryant Sr. and his late wife Jean of Franklin and Janine Bryant of Malden. She is the loving Grandma to 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Madeline Bissett of Billerica and the late Natalie Hughes. She is the dear cousin of Ethel Hayes of Milton. She is also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Phyllis's Funeral on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Her visiting hours will be on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
