Maria (Tavares Pereira) Araujo, age 83 of Taunton, Beloved wife of the late Tobias Araujo, passed away on August 2, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores a daughter of the late Antonio and Francisca (deJesus Teixeira) Tavares Pereira.
Before retirement in 2001, Mrs. Araujo was employed with the former Texas Instruments in Attleboro for many years. She was a devout Catholic, and a loving and caring person who was devoted to her family.
She was the loving mother of Anna De Araujo and Maria Auclair both of Taunton, grandmother of Elizabeth, Rafael, Christine, Melissa and Corey, great grandmother of Madison and Damien. Maria was also the sister of Manuel Pereira of Canada and was the loving mother of the late Marta McGrath.
Maria’s funeral with visitation will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 8:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Anthony Church, School St., Taunton at 10 am.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
