Walter V. Baratta, Jr. of Woburn, August 1, 2017 passed peacefully at home surrounded by many loving family & friends. Born on December 28th 1936 to Walter V. Baratta, Sr. and Ethel Bohmuller. Beloved husband of Inez H. (Scarlata). Loving father of John Baratta & Linda Caggiano of Georgia, Judy & husband Steven Tracy of New Hampshire, Joanne & husband Scott Van de Velde of Georgia and Julie Baratta of Woburn, MA. Survived by siblings Noel & wife Sharon Baratta of Tewksbury, Judith & husband Richard Green of Woburn and the late Robert Baratta & surviving wife Peggy of Burlington. Proud grandfather of Jonathan Baratta & Megan Stevens, Chynna & Ryan White, Asia Tracy, Chelsea & Nick Price, Sydney Van de Velde, Cameron Van de Velde, Jesse Vaudo & Jessica Moon, Beau & Tiffany Vaudo and Isabella Boyd. Special niece Gina Scarlata. Great-grandfather to Nicholas, Aiden, Lennon, Charlie and Nolan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Lived his life for his family, his family lived their lives for his love.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday, August 5th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd, Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Interment services will be private. Late U.S. Marine Corp Veteran.
