New Bedford – Fran (Maucabelo) Sousa, age 58 of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Joe Sousa and was the daughter of the late Ludvina (Medeiros) and Saul Maucabelo.
She was born in St. Michael, Azores and was employed as an Inspector for Julius Koch U.S.A.
She is survived by her husband; children, Chad Sousa and his companion, Monica Silva of New Bedford, Nicole Sousa of Dartmouth; grandchildren, Aniah Lopez, Isiaha Pires, Vivian Sousa; siblings, Maria Vieira of Westport, Olinda Cardoso of New Bedford, Natalina Ponte of New Bedford, Alzira Medeiros of Quincy, Beatriz Melo of St. Michael, Maria Alice Leroy of New Bedford, Mary Macedo of Taunton, Abel Maucabelo and Alberto Maucabelo of St. Michael, Azores.
Her visiting hours will be held Saturday morning from 8:00 – 9:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be private.
