Mrs. Irene T. (Lavertu) St. Amand, 92, of Methuen passed away on July 29th at the Academy Manor Nursing Home, Andover, MA. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Clara (Camire) Lavertu. Mrs. St. Amand was a resident of Methuen, MA most of her life. She was retired from Anton's Dry Cleaners, Andover MA, and was member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa Church. Mrs. St. Amand's true passion was animals. She was an avid animal advocate, donating much of her time and support to various animal rescues. She also loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. A widow of Albert St.Amand of Methuen, she is also pre-deceased by her daughter Patricia Marsan and her son Richard Vignola. Mrs. St. Amand is survived by her stepson Walter St. Amand and his wife, Kathleen, of Methuen Ma; her grandchildren Nicole Strange and her husband Brandon of Framingham, MA; Ricardo V. DePasquale and his partner Matthew Woodbury of Candia, NH; Renee I. Ross and her partner Frank C. Paris of Salem, NH; Bryan Brouillard and wife, Deanna of Candia, NH; as well as, step-daughter Nancy Potvin of Plaistow, NH, step-son Richard St. Amand and his wife Karlene of Brandon, FL. Grandchildren also include: Michelle Hartwell of Plaistow, NH, David St. Amand of Brandon, FL, Keith St. Amand of Brandon, FL, and Cheri Lynn Griffin of Tampa FL. There are several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. St. Amand also leaves behind her beloved dog, Pepe.
Family and Friends are invited to call on Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Road, Dracut.
