FALL RIVER – Mary A. Souza, age 100, passed away on July 30, 2017 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis B. Souza Jr. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Vicencia (Arruda) Alves.
Mary is survived by her daughter Lorraine Alves (late husband Gilbert Alves) of Westport; grandson Michael A. Alves (wife Cathy) of Bristol; siblings Leo Alves of MI, Silvana Pavao of Dighton and Clara Rego of Somerset. She was predeceased by her siblings Manuel and Arthur Alves and Irene Ferreira.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Our Lady of Grace Church at 10 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours on Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
