Anne R. Forte, 96

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Anne (Rozdilski) Forte, age 96, a resident of the Village at Willows Crossings in Mansfield, MA formerly of Wolcott, CT, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Forte who died in 2004.

Born in Waterbury, CT on April 22, 1921, she was a loving daughter of the late John and Eva (Skymba) Rozdilski.

Anne grew up and was raised on her family’s 30-acre farm in Wolcott, CT and was a 1939 graduate of Wolcott High School. She met her future husband Vincent, while working during the war effort, at the Benrus Watch Co. in Waterbury. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Waterbury and later returned to Wolcott in 1956.

Anne had made her home in Mansfield for the past twelve years. While living in Wolcott, she was very active in town affairs, which included being a loyal Democrat and a longtime member of the Wolcott Democratic Town Committee, where she served over thirty years as the Democratic Registrar of Voters.

As a working mother, Mrs. Forte ran the cafeteria at Wolcott High School. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wolcott Volunteer Fire Company 3, the Wolcott Grange, the Wolcott Garden Club and the Friends of the Wolcott Library.

She is survived by her devoted children Vincent J. Forte and his wife Mary of Foxboro, MA and Joanne M. Adler and her husband Julius of West Palm Beach, FL. She was the dear sister of Helen Miglairo of Wolcott, CT, Thomas Rozdilski and his wife Iris of Simsbury, CT, the late Joseph Rozdilski, who was killed during WWII at age 22, the late Mary Rozdilski, the late Julia Rozdilski and the late Nelly Kosko. She is also survived her cherished 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation, funeral services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
