He was nurtured and raised by his mother and stepfather Leroy L. Roane (deceased). Markus was a very out-going person, he loved sports and his music. He even coached youth basketball teams. He attended Boston Technical High School, he did not complete his studies there, but went on to get his GED. In 1986 he married the love of his life and sometime later they welcomed their only child Charlotte A. Asberry. Although, life had many twists and turns, he and his wife ended their marriage, but they remained very cordial towards one another. Over the years Markus had several jobs, but finally began work as a sorting room supervisor and became part of the ministry at the Salvation Army in 2014. During his time there he impacted many lives. He helped those in recovery and led others in prayer before their work day began. God used him in a mighty way as a counselor, advisor, a support person and friend. He will be missed.
