Obituary

Mitchell W. Corey, a resident of Quincy for over 30 years and formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Quincy Medical Center in Quincy. He was 70 years old.

Mitchell was born in Boston on November 28, 1946, a son of the late George Corey and Olga (Scoff) Corey. He grew up in Jamaica Plain where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from English High School. Mitchell enlisted into the United States Navy on November 4, 1965 and served his country with courage and pride during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on October 8, 1969 with the rank of Yeoman Seaman (E-3). Mitchell worked as a Property Manager for over 25 years at the Glass Factory and the Charles River Park complex in Boston.

Mitchell is the beloved father of Rachel Corey of Charlestown. He is the beloved brother of Joanne Spurrier of Marshfield and Diane Corey of the Netherlands. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mitchell's visiting hours on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4 to 8 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His burial will be private.
