McDERMOTT, Cathy Marie Of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Needham, died on July 14th at the University of Maryland Hospital. Cathy was a 1979 graduate of Needham High School. She graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Nursing and then from Johns Hopkins University where she received a Master's degree in Public Health.
Cathy is survived by her spouse Sarah Palmer. Daughter of Mildred (O'Brien) McDermott of Needham and the late Joseph M. McDermott. Sister of Lynn Helm, Tom McDermott and David Tolland. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and her beloved dog Toby. Cathy held many volunteer jobs during her lifetime. She was employed by the U.S. Army in Regulatory Affairs and Drug Development.
