Obituary


Marion Murphy Neiman, 93, formerly of Winchester, New Hampshire and Fort Lee, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 peacefully at the All American Assisted Living Home in Londonderry, NH.

Marion was born on October 13, 1923 in New York, New York. She was the daughter of the late Helen Moore Murphy and Bernard John Murphy. She was raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey with her late brother, Bernard John Murphy, where she graduated from Holy Angels High School.

Marion married Myril A. Neiman in 1944. Together they raised four children in Fort Lee: Thomas N. Neiman, late of Georgia, Vermont; Paul M. Neiman of Rye, New Hampshire; the late Jeanne M. Neiman; and Gerald D. Neiman of Londonderry, New Hampshire. She and Myril were married 65 years before his passing in December of 2009.

Marion was a great lover of english literature, especially children's literature. She obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Library Science in 1977 from Caldwell College and worked for a time at the Fort Lee Public Library.

Marion and Myril retired to Winchester, New Hampshire in 1982. There she was active in the Winchester Historical Society, the Winchester Woman's Club and at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She also loved spending this time with and entertaining her grandchildren.

Marion is survived by her son, Paul and is spouse Lucy Ann (Johnson) of Rye, New Hampshire; her son, Gerald and his spouse Kathleen (McGinley) of Londonderry, NH; her daughter-in-law, Dina Lee (Hackett) Neiman of Georgia, VT; seven grandchildren: Sean M. Neiman and his spouse Tara (Whitten) of Winchester, NH; Lara M. (Neiman) Bouchard and her spouse, Michael Bouchard of Georgia, VT; Joshua T. Neiman and his spouse Joanna Lynn (Chism) of Springboro, Ohio; Haley J. Neiman of New York, NY; Helen L. Neiman of Londonderry, NH; Marissa A. Neiman of Rye, NH; and Merrill F. Neiman of Londonderry, NH. Five great-grandchildren: Brooke, Kalli, Nova, Eliab and Cora; and one great-great granddaughter, Rena; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marion will be laid to rest along with her late husband, Myril, at the family burial plot in Madonna Cemetery after a Catholic Mass at the Church on the Hill, 2070 Hoefley's Lane, Fort Lee, New Jersey on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Winchester Historical Society at 403 Back Ashuelot Road, Winchester, NH 03470; or to the Alzheimer's Association of New Hampshire and Massachusetts at 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
