Obituary

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Casazza
Of Tewksbury

Elizabeth “Betty” Casazza (Faga) passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, surrounded by her 8 children.

For nearly 60 years Betty was the wife of Edward who predeceased her in 2014.

She was born in Arlington to parents Joseph and Sara Jo Faga.

Following graduation Betty attended Fisher College.

She took a couple of business classes and even worked a month or two at the phone company. However, once she met her husband Ed, she knew she wanted to be a homemaker with a house full of kids. She made sure every minute was full of laughter and fun for her children. With her husband and best friend Ed, Betty made raising children a lifetime of work as she cared for the children of neighborhood moms and her own grandchildren. Her constant through the years was the use of love, laughter and food to bring happiness to the lives of others. Despite seldom opening a cookbook or following a recipe the same way twice, Betty was considered by all that knew her as an exceptional cook. We still run into friends from many years ago who remember the aroma of homemade pizza filling the neighborhood. There was always room in their pool in the summer and at their table at dinner.

Betty had many interests. As an accomplished quilter she created hundreds of quilts. her best work covers the beds of family and friends. Before her health declined Betty enjoyed traveling. Her and Ed took many cruises and trips out west. Her and Ed also enjoyed attending dances at the Senior Center where they cut up a rug or two.

Betty had a beautiful smile and a joyous laugh as well as a true “gift of gab”. She loved meeting new people and talking to them. She was a natural when it came to treating strangers like they had been friends forever.

She will be dearly missed by her children Edward, Carol, Matthew, Betty Jane, Daniel, Billy, Timmy, and Frank. Betty will also be missed by her adoring grandchildren Matthew, Ashley, Benjamin, Stephen, Jill, Gregg, Katie, Kristen, Daria, and Aleksandra. Betty also leaves two great-grandchildren, Landon and Logan.
