Obituary

Mr. David J. Webster, of Taunton, entered into rest Sunday, July 23 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Jean M. (Brady) Webster. He was born 81 years ago in North Dighton, the son of the late David and Mary (Ulak) Webster. He was educated in Taunton and was a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a silversmith for Reed and Barton Silversmiths of Taunton for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the early Vietnam Era. David was a member of the Reed and Barton Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed sports, and was well known as a softball umpire. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.

In addition to his wife, he leaves: 3 sons: David Webster and his wife, Nanette of East Taunton, Christopher Webster of Virginia, and Jeffrey Webster of New Bedford; 1 daughter: Karen Braga and her husband, Nelson of East Taunton; 1 brother: Robert Webster of San Francisco, Calif.; 3 sisters: Madelyn Kobryn and her husband, John, Joan Donelan, and Audrey DeStephen and her husband, Joseph, all of New Jersey; 8 grandchildren: Melissa, Ryan and his wife, Sonia, Cassandra, Brandon, Christopher, Bryant, Vanessa, and Nichole, and several nieces and nephews. David was also the brother of the late Helen Oakes, Mary Ann Johnson, Carol Slattery, and Patricia Webster.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, July 28 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
