In Taunton, July 23, 2017 Maria N. (Luis) Santos, age 80, passed away peacefully in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. Maria was preceded in death by her husband José P. Santos. She was born in St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Antonio & Virginia (Melo) Santos. Maria had resided in Taunton since 1974. She was employed at the former Corcoran Shoe Company in Stoughton. Maria enjoyed crafts, cooking, caring for her family and was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family. Maria is survived by her two loving sons, Lino Santos and his wife Dora of Sparta, N.J. and Antonio Santos of Taunton. She also leaves her siblings, Antonio Luis and his wife Maria of Taunton and Manuel Luis and his wife Cecelia of British Columbia, Canada. Maria also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Resendes and Brianna and Kendra Santos. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, July 28th at 9 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church at 10 am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 6-8 pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
