Obituary

Frank Charles Tracy, 91, formerly of Medway passed away peacefully in Phoenix, AZ on Sunday, July 16, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Marguerite Idella (Cryan) Tracy who passed away last May.

Born in Everett, MA on November 16, 1925 he was the son of the late Frank T. Pedonti and Annie (Brennan)Tracy.
A WWII veteran of the Army Air Corps, Frank was a B17 crew member shot down over Germany. He was captured and served as a Prisoner of War before escaping and making his way back to England through Germany and Poland. For his service to his country, Frank was awarded the Air Medal with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal.

He retired as a Chemical Engineer from the Boston Edison Company and was a member of the Florida Disabled Veterans Association, serving as State Commander from 2003-2004. He served on the committee for the development and construction of the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C., attending opening and dedication ceremonies in May of 2004. Frank devoted much of his time honoring veterans and assisting them in transitioning back to civilian life.

He is survived by 5 sons and their wives, Frank and Gail Tracy of Phoenix, AZ, Kevin and Carolin Tracy of San Diego, CA, Gerald and Melinda Tracy of Medway, MA, Lee and Darlene Tracy of Hampton, NH, and Robert and Nancy Tracy of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Edward Tracy, Mae Tracy, Helen Maniscalco and Daisy Seeger.

Services and interment will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date and are under the care of Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home of Medway.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
