Obituary

Arsenian, Albert J, of Sudbury, formerly of Medford and Winchester passed away peacefully on July 23, 2017. Beloved husband of Lee (Barsomian) Arsenian of 63 years. Son of the late John and Victoria Arsenian. Father of Debby Nelson and her husband Mark, and Laura Taliadoros and her husband Steven. Loving grandfather (Papa) of Amanda Nelson, Kaila Nelson and Michael Taliadoros. Brother of the late Arthur Arsenian. Brother-in-Law of Haig and Joyce Barsomian. Uncle of many loving nieces and nephews. Al graduated from Clark University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He also was a graduate of Burdette College in accounting and attended Northeastern University for electronics engineering. He was a Vice President and member of the Board of Directors at AVCO Everett Research Laboratory Inc. He retired from AVCO/Textron after 35 years of service. Al served in the U.S. Army, 841st AAA (Anti-Aircraft Artillery) battalion and the 78th Infantry Division during World War II. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Al was a member of Amvets Post 41, Watertown, Mass. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at Sebago Lake, Maine. Visiting hours at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Wednesday, July 26 from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services at Saint Stephen’s Armenian Church, 38 Elton Avenue, Watertown on Thursday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint Stephen’s Armenian Church or Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
