Obituary

Louise M. Gregorowicz, 85, peacefully passed away July 21 in Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the widow of Edward V. Gregorowicz, who passed away in 2000. The couple was married on June 16, 1956.

Born in Dickson City, Pa., daughter of the late John and Mary Svrcek Visocky, she was a 1950 graduate of Dickson City High School and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Peckville. She was an officer of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and active in the women's societies at the former Holy Ghost Parish, Olyphant, Pa.

Louise was a loving mother and grandmother whose passion in life was dedication to her family. She loved cooking for and sharing her family traditions with her entire family and friends. She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, sewing and quilting, playing bingo and many family vacations. She was a kind and caring person whose strong faith was an inspiration to everyone that knew her.

Surviving are four sons, attorney Edward V. and wife, Julie, Lorton, Va.; John Joseph and wife, Mary Anne, Clarks Summit, Pa.; Andrew and wife, Kimberly, Jessup, Pa.; attorney Jim and wife, Marilyn, Spring Brook, Pa.; and a daughter, Ann Marie Drake and husband, John, Tafton, Pa.; 15 grandchildren, Marilyn, Paulina, Alyson, Barbara, Tamara, Samantha, Gianna, Andrew, Edward, Matthew, Benny, Grace Gregorowicz; Laura, Madeline and Maria Drake; aunt, Lillian Svrcek, Binghamton, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Visocky; and sister, Irene Visocky.

Funeral services will be Tuesday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Peckville.
